The Simple Life

This week I had the opportunity to visit with a 91 year-old lady. She talked of growing up in AZ.

She told me what it was like to live in a home with no air conditioner or electric appliances. Her father owned a drive-in with car hops that brought food to your car. He made his own ice cream.

She worked there when she was in middle school to earn spending money. She started by cleaning and she was thrilled when she was old enough to become a car hop.

She talked about living through the depression and seeing her brother go off to war.

Beverly is her name. Over and over she mentioned that even though times were tougher with less conveniences, life was simpler and folks seemed to be more appreciative and less demanding.

The simple life – the kinder life. Isn’t that what we want for our children and grandchildren. I know I want them to be raised with godly morals and principles. I want them to have wholesome entertainment choices.

One of the companies that I have chosen to be associated with on my blog is PureFlix. They provide Family and Faith based entertainment for their subscribers.  It works like other streaming subscription entertainment venues.
