Once again, my heart and my head were filled with song when I woke up. What a wonderful way to start the day – praising the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit for who they are!
When I was a little girl my parents took to the Grand Canyon. That was when I first saw the Desert View Watchtower. I was amazed by it. It stuck in my memory. Last summer, Dave and I visited the Grand Canyon together and when I saw the Watchtower my heart was stirred like it had been some 60+ years before.
For me it was a symbol of strength and endurance. Built on the edge of the awe-inspiring Grand Canyon, it stood as a bastion of protection.
This is the picture that I saw while my heart was singing, “Shout to the Lord” by Darlene Zschech.
“Shout to the Lord all the Earth, let us sing
Power and majesty, praise to the King
Mountains bow down and the seas will roar
At the sound of Your name
I sing for joy at the work of Your hand
Forever I’ll love You, forever I’ll stand
Nothing compares to the promise I have
In You
My Jesus, my Saviour
Lord there is none like You
All of my days I want to praise
The wonders of Your mighty Love
My comfort, my shelter
Tower of refuge and strength
Let every breath, all that I am
Never cease to worship You“
I sing and shout for joy because of Who my Father is and Who He always will be. He is my strength, my shield, my protector, my everything.
“The Lord is a mighty tower where his people can runย for safetyโ” Proverbs 18:10 CEV
“Live under the protection of God Most High and stay in the shadow of God All-Powerful.
2ย Then you will say to the Lord, โYou are my fortress,ย my place of safety; you are my God, ย and I trust you.โ Psalm 91:1-2 CEV
“I may walk through valleys as dark as death,ย but I won’t be afraid. You are with me, and your shepherd’s rodย makes me feel safe.” Psalm 23:4 CEV
“ย Be brave and strong! Don’t be afraid of the nations on the other side of the Jordan. The Lord your God will always be at your side, and he will never abandon you.” Deuteronomy 31:6 CEV
“ย So whenever we are in need, we should come bravely before the throne of our merciful God. There we will be treated with undeserved grace, and we will find help.” Hebrews 4:16 CEV
“I love You, O Lord, my strength. 2ย The Lord is my rock, and my safe place, and the One Who takes me out of trouble. My God is my rock, in Whom I am safe. He is my safe-covering, my saving strength, and my strong tower. 3ย I call to the Lord, Who has the right to be praised. And I am saved from those who hate me.” Psalm 18:1-3 NLV
How encouraging it is to know that we don’t need a physical place where we hide from peril. We have a strong tower, a safe place, the Rock of our Salvation, who will always be with us.
For that, I will always be thankful!

I pray for you each day and thank the Lord for bringing you into my life.
Thank you for sharing! It can difficult to remember, but we know that God is our protector and strength of our souls. And, I never knew that tower exists!
Sharon, I’m glad you were blessed by the post. Our Father is always willing and able to help us.
