Start the Day Right

A new month, a new day but our Father is always the same!

His love is everlasting, His faithfulness endures to a thousand generations, His peace bypasses all our understanding and His promises never fail!

Start the day knowing that you are blessed and you have angels around you to protect and help you today.

“This poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear (reverence) Him, and delivers them. Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him” Psalm 34:6-8

“But I will sing about your strength. I will rejoice in your love every morning. You have been my place of safety, the place I can run to when troubles come. 17 I will sing praises to you, my source of strength. You, God, are my place of safety. You are the God who loves me!” Psalm 59:16-17 ERV

“We pray that the Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father will comfort you and strengthen you in every good thing you do and say. God loved us and gave us through his grace a wonderful hope and comfort that has no end.” II Thessalonians 2:16-17 ERV

“Praise the Lord because he is good! His faithful love will last forever!” Psalm 118:1 ERV

“My soul, praise the Lord and never forget how kind he is! ³He forgives all our sins and heals all our sicknesses. ⁴He saves us from the grave, and he gives us love and compassion…But the Lord has always loved his followers, and he will continue to love them forever and ever!” Psalm 103:2-4, 17 ERV

“I will sing forever about the Lord’s love. I will sing about his faithfulness forever and ever!
²I will say, ‘Your faithful love will last forever. Your loyalty is like the sky—there is no end to it!” Psalm 89:1-2 ERV

I don’t know about you, but I think this is a great way to start the day and the month, focusing on the eternal, unfailing, everlasting love of God!

Time to Sing

Remember yesterday I told you “God’s Got This”! Well, we had the opportunity to live that out last night when we helped a camper and her kids who were in need.

Because of that, today’s post is later than normal. In fact, it’s one I recycled from years back. However, the truth conveyed has not changed.

Today’s mandate:

“Then I looked, and I heard the voices of many angels. The angels were around the throne, the four living beings, and the elders. There were thousands and thousands of angels—10,000 times 10,000. 12 The angels said in a loud voice,

“All power, wealth, wisdom, and strength belong to the Lamb who was killed. He is worthy to receive honor, glory, and praise!” 13 Then I heard every created being that is in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, everything in all these places, saying, “All praise and honor and glory and power forever and ever to the one who sits on the throne and to the Lamb!” Revelation 5:11-13 ERV

Sing with me and all the heavenly hosts:

To Him who sits on the throne and unto the Lamb – be blessing and glory and honor and power forever!

On Labor Day, labor to enter into the rest that God has called you too.

Great Day of Praise

Thank you to those who responded yesterday with comments on the blog telling me three of the things you were grateful for. Add three new things to your journaling this morning – let’s keep this accounting of praise going throughout the month of November.

When I was a child, we grew up singing a hymn in our church, “Count Your Blessings”.

1 When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

Refrain:
Count your blessings, name them one by one;
Count your blessings, see what God hath done;
Count your blessings, name them one by one;
Count your many blessings, see what God hath done.

2 Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, ev’ry doubt will fly,

Counting our blessings puts our focus where it belongs, on the Lord and His goodness. The Psalms are filled with praise – King David wrote many of the psalms as songs of praise and deliverance.

“Sing a new song to the Lord! Everyone on this earth, sing praises to the Lord, ² sing and praise his name. Day after day announce, ‘The Lord has saved us!’ ³Tell every nation on earth, ‘The Lord is wonderful and does marvelous things! ⁴The Lord is great and deserves greatest praise! He is the only God worthy of our worship. ⁵Other nations worship idols, but the Lord created the heavens. ⁶Give honor and praise to the Lord, whose power and beauty
fill his holy temple.’” Psalm 96:1-6 CEV

This psalm admonishes everyone on earth to sing praises, every day! (Read the whole chapter). Praise the Lord because He is great and does marvelous things. Our God is not an idol made with human hands. No, He is the God who created all things.

When we see a beautiful sunrise, praise the Lord. When we experience the beauty of the clouds in the sky, the flowers in bloom, the sighting of a new born calf, a field ripe with grain, the miracle of a new life or the expression of age-old love – we should praise the Lord. He is the one who has filled the earth with wonder and our hearts with love.

“Tell the heavens and the earth to be glad and celebrate! Command the ocean to roar with all of its creatures ¹² and the fields to rejoice with all of their crops. Then every tree in the forest will sing joyful songs ¹³to the Lord.” verses 11-13 CEV

Don’t let the mully-grubs capture your thinking. Lift your voice and make this a great day of praise!
